NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) is a U.S. federal agency within the Department of Commerce responsible for developing measurement standards, technology, and cybersecurity frameworks. NIST publishes SP 800-53 security controls, the AI Risk Management Framework (AI RMF), FIPS cryptographic standards, and the NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF).
